These energetic duo is rejoining the BG VII team! Minês and Henrique are teachers at the Little Big Apple school and are bringing some fun Lisbon knowledge to kick off this special weekend. For those who know them, you already know that fun is guaranteed; For those who don’t, you really shouldn’t miss this opportunity!

Shuffle Collective is exactly what the name suggests: a collective of people who love swing and blues music and come together to make dancers move! Born from the local dance community, this Collective of dancers-musicians began with informal jam sessions — and it didn’t take long before that joy evolved into Porto’s first band dedicated to playing especially for the local Swing & Blues dancers!
Sometimes it’s the core members on stage; other times, the Collective invites guest musicians to bring a fresh twist to the show.
For this 7th edition, Shuffle Collective is turning things up a notch! With a “+” in the name, other musicians will join the crew to spice up the night. Get ready to dance to drums, guitar, piano, violin, trumpet — and several dazzling vocalists. This is live music made by dancers, for dancers!

with Gil & Andy
Besides being the main organizers of Bota Gatherings, João Gil and Andreia are local teachers from Bota Swing school. They are dedicated to teaching African-american social dances, from the slowest to the fastest rhythms in Swing and Blues music. With a focus on technique, expression, proactivity and musicality, their classes are structured in layers, allowing your body to explore and practice various dynamics in response to the music being played. They are the lead instructors at Bota Gatherings editions, and this edition brings you a Lindy Hop masterclass!

On Saturday night, we jump straight into the action! Enjoy three hand-picked DJs and a Swing & Blues concert from our guest band: Martín Burguez Quartet – THE GROOVY FOUR!
Every ticket also includes the usual delicious soup from Brocolá after each concert to power up! 🔋

Martín Burguez is back to the BG stage with his super groovy Quartet!
This Uruguayan guitarist and singer captivates audiences with his strong rhythm, creative solos, and vibrant stage presence. At the heart of the band are Martín on guitar and vocals, and Arnaud Desprez on saxophone, leading the melodies and riffs. The rhythm section — with Oriol Fontanals on double bass and Pascal Mucci on drums — brings the groove to life with energy and precision.
With extensive experience on European stages, these four musicians are true artists of swing and blues — and they’re here to make you dance!

Martín, bandleader of our guest band The Groovy Four, is an incredible musician with plenty of knowledge to share. And guess what? He’s teaming up with the amazing Maud for a Blues masterclass! Maud Wernette is a dance teacher and director of Blue Move school in Barcelona and has joined forces with Martín to create a special blues class with live music. How lucky are we?!

SUNDAY TASTER
with Constance Hurlé
Besides being a creator of performing and literary arts, Constance is a charismatic Jazz dancer from Vigo! You’ll find her popping up on dance floors all over Europe — sometimes working at festivals, other times she’s dancing like nobody’s watching! She values body awareness and the way music naturally calls for expression, so expect a fun and expressive warm-up to get you ready to the Tea Party!

On Sunday, the party starts earlier than the other days — And you can count with more amazing DJ sets and a second concert from The Groovy Four, kicking off at 17:30 and wrapping up by 20:30.
BUT that’s not all — a farewell Jam session will take the stage right after!
Everyone’s invited to join — whether you play an instrument, dance, or just love to clap along like a pro! This is our special moment to come together, sharing “see you soon” dances and hugs 🫂
Since we’ll be partying through the late afternoon, you don’t need to worry about dinner — the usual delicious Brocolá soup will be served after the concert (and it’s included with your ticket like Saturday night). Plus, the bar will have tasty snacks to recharge your energy. Worry-free last party!
